Weather It Is (Special Weather Statement #2)

Latest radar shows an intense line of storms entering the Gush Etzion area.  Temperatures have fallen from 5 to 2 C in the last half hour.  Latest ensemble forecasts show the cold air associated with this storm possibly lasting until evening hours (with a very small chance that it will return again to very cold levels Friday afternoon).  The ensemble forecasts differs from the single GFS forecast regarding the staying power of the cold air.

There has been a small accumulation of ice, which can lead to slippery road conditions.  However, precipitation should moderate a bit towards evening slackening the chance of any icing.  Snow, graupel, and rain will be mixed this afternoon during passage of this convective line.  We do not expect temperatures to fall below freezing, but caution is warranted nevertheless.
